I spent Monday and Tuesday this week in Chicago, passing the hours in a boardroom strategizing a path for a client’s innovative new product. I expect this new product to have significant impact in one of the industry’s most interesting niches, but for now I must remain hush.
Though if it turns out to be a hit you know I'll be bragging about it here!
Despite the intriguing conversations the trip’s most indelible memory was that of Chicago’s West Side, where blight lined streets conspired with Winter Gray to add pall to an already heartbreaking scene. One reminiscent of the Bronx those years that it burned, the mirror reflecting who’s to blame.
THE travel and recovery left little time for blogging so I had planned not to post this week, until I was contacted by someone sharing words which we all knew were coming. The first I had heard though containing details of the impending dismantling of Pittsburgh Paints. Details which despite the tight schedule I wanted to share.
I make no representations that these words speak fact, nor have I confirmed their accuracy using multiple sources as journalistic ethics normally require.
Unless I disclose to you that I had not done that work.
THE source describes themselves as an employee at the Pittsburgh Paints’ headquarters in Cranberry, where I’m told I serve as the director of communications though I’ve yet to receive any payment for that work.

THE disclosure allows me to publish this and allow you to make your own decision as to whether this rumor is true, which I find to be likely considering the circumstances. It also allows me to say my 1,000 words for the week using a picture, which takes decidedly less time than were I to write them. That efficiency allowing me to get this post out during an otherwise hectic week.
In the coming weeks I’ll maintain this shorter format while travels for commerce, brotherhood and pleasure abduct my writing hours. And, the time I would spend confirming what someone told me– which one day may prove to be false.
None-the-less it is what someone told me, and now we'll learn together if it’s true.
